I was disappointed to hear of Antonia's choice to marry Larry Donovan, and despite the warnings that she received she did not listen.To think if she had listened to the people and there warnings of Larry she would not be in such a position. she excepted her choice of a child, which she had out of wedlock. Now she will have a hard time ever finding a husband. these choices she made greatly disappointed me.

I understand that not everything works out, but when I read that Antonia's engagement was broken off, I was upset because I liked Antonia. Then when I read that she had a child out of wedlock, I was also upset because Antonia is a strong woman but everyone needs help with things. I felt that Antonia deserved better than what she got even though she wasn't always nice. Antonia is a smart woman but the broken engagement and having a child out of wedlock were not good choices and as a result, Antonia might have trouble finding success in the field of marriage. These choices Antonia made in the book made me upset.

I may be a strong and independent woman, but I need someone like everyone else. No one wants to be alone. Although my enganement was broken off, I had confidence that I would find someone else. In my time, I know it is not looked highly upon to have a child out of wedlock, but as a mother, it is my job to love that child no matter what the circumstances are. As my friend, Jim, I understand you want what is best for me, but sometimes you have to let your friends make mistakes and learn a lesson. In my case, I found someone who accepted me, and I know that does not always happen.
